    Hangzhou Library from May 14th to 24th, 2016 holds an exhibition of works of a Polish artist. It is the most extensive individual art show of a Pole in China in the history.

    At the opening ceremony of the exhibition entitled "Influx" (Chin. 涌入) on May 14th , 2016, at 2:00 pm. curator of the exhibition, Zhanna Khromykh presented Wiesław Borkowski. Curator drew attention to the passionate commitment of the artist in the creative work and a significant desire to build cross-cultural bridges. The artist presented briefly his experience of learning and combining the specificity of Polish and Chinese art. He mentioned that the ink sketches, posted on the right from the entrance to the exhibition hall, depicted people in traditional Polish regional costumes. He also paid homage to his first master and mentor, Stanisław Tworzydło.


    The ceremony was attended by representatives of local artistic circles, the curator of Maisui'er Culture Exchange Center, Vincent Jiang, co-organizer of the exhibition, invited guests and visitors. On behalf of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai, Monika Zapała, educational and cultural affairs officer, was present at the opening of the exhibition.


    On May 23rd, 2016, Vice Mayor of Hangzhou, Xie Shuangcheng and Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai, Piotr Nowotniak, visited the exhibition. Wieslaw Borkowski gave the Vice Mayor a private tour, explaining the exhibited artwork in person. Vice Mayor expressed his great appreciation for the talent and extraordinary passion of Polish painter.


    Wieslaw Borkowski Exhibition in Hangzhou contains sketches in ink filled with watercolor, calligraphy, Chinese paintings, paintings on porcelain, paintings on clothes. The exhibition is advertised with a poster designed by Alexandra Burova and a film made by Dominik Derflinger.

    Another exhibition of Wiesław Borkowski will be held in Ningbo, from 4th to 12th June 2016, where it will be part of the "Polish Culture & Art Exhibition" in Science Exploration Center Temporary Exhibition Hall.
